Amber – Occasion Styling Issue 14

The raw and sparse beauty of an art deco building immediately inspired this modern, minimalist shoot…

With a light-filled blank canvas to work on, the styling team set about creating an ‘undone’ look that felt simple yet elegant, adding warmth and life through earthen-toned flora, soft fabrics and touches of brass, filling the space with a feeling of romance.

Minimal place-settings and glassware, soft linens and ceramics, all in pale, muted tones, alongside a winsome display of textured florals bring a relaxed mood to the scene. Jagged slabs of white marble form platters and are adorned with fresh salads, edible flowers and gleaming seafood to be passed round and shared, making the tablescape feel natural and authentic.

There is a feeling of togetherness, of communal conviviality. The hanging floral installation is perhaps the only glimmer of ostentatious celebration and even it manages to watch over the space with an understated natural gentility.

The bride’s gloriously unstructured bouquet of fresh orchids, hellebores, ranunculus, garden roses, dried ferns and rust-hued leaves, echo the sentiment of uncomplicated ease. Naturally, the bride is relaxed, comfortable and in her element within this modern, romantic setting.
