Becky & Ryan by Chris K.T Bright

Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love, what is unique about you and your relationship…

Ryan and I both share the same love for music, traveling and the outdoors as well as the value for hard work and dedication.

I work in the music business and he is a crane mechanic so we work hard on the weekdays to support our weekends. We love traveling places to adventure – surf, snowboard, hike, you name it and we are interested. But we also love our time at home – the simple nights of making homemade pizza, drinking wine, listening to our favorite DJ’s newest mix and hanging out with our French bulldog puppy.

Tell us about your special day, was there a specific theme or style? Tell us a little about the setting, the styling and some of your favourite details…

We got married at Ryan’s aunt and uncle’s private estate on the North Shore of Oahu, HI. The backdrop of their property is a beautiful, lush valley. The theme of our wedding was boho tropical, we wanted the vibe to be chill and fun like a backyard party. My favourite details were the DJ tent, Hawaiian bouquets and the photo booth.

Tell us about your main outfits:

I wore Made with Love’s Frankie dress – it was so comfortable and the best part was that it had pockets to hold my vows. I changed into a For Love & Lemons dress to dance the night away. My husband wore his favourite surfer brands – Volcom & RVCA.

What were some of the most memorable/unique moments from the day?

Ryan’s grandfather was our officiant which was so special to both of us. Prior to the wedding, he separately asked us some questions and during the ceremony, he read everyone our answers. It turned out that we both had the same answer to the question when we first started to fall in love with each other – it was at a music festival in Washington where we went camping and truly got to know one another.

Any advice for other couples planning to spend the rest of their lives together?

Communication is the most important aspect of a healthy relationship – also, being willing to compromise. Be appreciative of each other and keep the romance alive – weekly date nights are highly recommended!
