BELLA + MARCUS by Jimmy Raper Photography

Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love, what is unique about you and your relationship:

The thing I love the most about us and our relationship and what I think makes it unique is how much we genuinely enjoy the simple things.

Nights in (thanks to COVID) listing to Marcus’ fave 80’s music, spending time with friends and family, early morning drives and stopping off for breakfasts, basically anything car related for Marcus and all things home interiors for me as we’re about to move into our first house!

Tell us about your special day, was there a specific theme or style? Tell us a little about the setting, the styling and some of your favourite details:

We were married on 23rd February 2019, the peak of summer and it rained the entire day – we’re told this is good luck!! The rain didn’t dampen the mood though. If anything, the overcast setting was quite nice and made the photos even more special.

Our top priority was to get the music right, make sure the dance floor was big enough and tick off the formalities to be able to dance and enjoy the party!

The Ivy Ballroom is already pretty bold so we kept the styling simple with lots of greenery and candles. I loved the mix of candles and large green palm fans on the black table settings. I think my favourite detail was statement piece hanging over the dance floor.

Tell us about your main outfits:

Marcus wore a traditional three-piece black suit with bow tie. Kept it classy and classic to offset his not so classic man bun (the reason we are together)!

I am so indecisive at the best of times so choosing a dress was not easy for me, I ended up having it made. It was fitted with a train long enough to feel like a bride.

What were some of the most memorable/unique moments from the day?

It sounds cliché, but we both agree that seeing each other at the end of the aisle was pretty special. That moment felt surreal, it was crazy to think of how we met and how we got to this point.

We wanted to make sure that on the night we would escape the room for 5 minutes to take a breath and take it all in. It’s not every day that you have all your friends and family in the one room there to celebrate you two.

Any advice for other couples planning to spend the rest of their lives together?

Enjoy the simple things together and make sure you talk, about everything! Stay on the same page.
