The location for this shoot was a restored barn, sympathetically restored to it’s original whitewash of the Welsh region with undulating walls, high wooden beamed ceilings and slit windows. A beautiful, modern and romantic setting.
Imagine standing in the cool of uneven, whitewashed walls that tower above you, while the sun beats through a window nearby. A gentle glow is cast on the concrete floor around you. You watch colour distort as it shines through frosted signage, and striking shadows create the most interesting patterns. Your senses are heightened.
Foraged wood – natural and unstructured – is woven together with cultivated and exotic floristry. On the table is hand-crafted organic crockery nestled against hand dyed napkins and sleek golden cutlery. Warmth is echoed throughout the decor, with blonde-wood chairs, naturally scented beeswax candles and your favourite dry champagne. A boldly silhouetted gown with a billowing sleeve, or a sparkly low-backed dress that drapes over the body in the softest silk, defines the figure and liberates the free-spirited romantic within you.
Artfully captured with a strong play on light and dark, this far flung destination was successfully recreated on a moody spring day in the depths of the English countryside. Everything in this scene is abundantly tactile, from the antique pewter to the fluted glasses. All you have to do is reach out and touch it.
