CRANE BROTHERS – Autumn/ Winter 2017 sees a return to English heritage and the dressing style on which Crane Brothers was founded.
In a nod to designer Murray Crane’s 2005 Game collection, AW17 once again utilises traditional English weaving techniques to create garments in cloth that includes Donegal, Bedford Twill and classic Tweeds.
A softened and unstructured silhouette is key for this Autumn. All pieces have an authenticity and reliability to them that convey a personal history with the wearer.
An earthy palette of Chestnut Brown, Olive and Hazel is contrasted by muted accents of Claret and Blackberry. Navy remains prominent, albeit in a more subdued version, in contrast to the brighter tones of previous seasons.
Building on the introduction of a successful separates offer in 2016, a strong trouser story continues this season complementing separate Jacketing.
The collection is an Anglo-Italian ragbag of Suits, Blazers and Trousers as well as Knits and Shirts.
It draws heavily on our own tailoring heritage, as well as the rich history and relationships we share with some of England’s most famous Mills. These include Abraham Moon & Sons, Fox Brothers and Dugdale Bros & Co.
This combined with a soft structured and more relaxed continental silhouette creates the best of Britain reinterpreted for an Antipodean Winter.
Exciting developments include an expansion to our range of fully fashioned knitwear as well as footwear Made in England. Brown Suede, Claret Merino, Olive Corduroy and Gun Club checks all work well beside a simple palette of Navy and Charcoal.
