Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love, what is unique about you and your relationship:
Josh is 31 yrs old, works in underground coal mines. He loves to spend his free time surfing, riding dirt bikes and being with his family. Edwina is 29 yrs old and works as a Registered Nurse.
She loves the outdoors, her dogs and going on adventures. Together we have experienced 9 years of love, world-wide travel, loss (of both our fathers), hardship but most of all ongoing a mutual respect for one another. Together we have grown and continue to support each other through life.
Tell us about your special day, was there a specific theme or style? Tell us a little about the setting, the styling and some of your favourite details:
We wanted our wedding day to be about sharing laughter, great food and good tunes with a small group of our closest family and friends, and that it was. It was mid COVID-19, despite being cancelled it went as originally planned and all we asked for was our guests and ourselves to be able to attend the wedding and enjoy a good shindig!
We didn’t really have a style, but our platform was comfortable and easy-going. We both do not like cake so we had donuts instead. Josh wears only Van’s so that’s what he wore with his suit. Edwina decided dancing was safer in sneakers so she wore Mollini sneakers. We asked all our guests to come dressed in an outfit they could enjoy delicious food in and dance the night away without a worry.
We had a beautiful property in Newrybar, NSW making for a with a gorgeous wedding venue with a little addition of rain to tie our knot. Apparently a wet knot is harder to untie!
Tell us about your main outfits:
Edwina wore a custom designed gown made by Pip at Bon Bridé, purchased from Your Art Bridal. Mollini shoes. Grew & Co rings. Josh wore a M.J Bale suit with Vans.
What were some of the most memorable/unique moments from the day:
Getting ready in the house together was just perfect, we have shared so much together, being able to reminisce about the entire day/night is sentimental to us. The first time we laid eyes on each other at our ‘first look’ photos will be a moment never forgotten. Having a small wedding meant we had the time to be present to all our guests and this was a very important thing for Josh and Edwina.
Any advice for other couples planning to spend the rest of their lives together:
Be kind to each other and consider how the other is feeling always. Being able to put yourself in someone else’s shoes can be a valuable talent.
