FLEUR + MARK by Nikki Deles

Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love, what is unique about you and your relationship:

Mark and I met in 2015 through that dating app Tinder, although we had some very legitimate mutual friends that encouraged the first date.

I have been travelling the world as a Flight Attendant for the past 15 years and Mark has some very adventurous hobbies during his weekend and works in sales during the week. Our 3rd date consisted of Snow Boarding and Tequila shots and a couple of weeks after that Mark took me skydiving, in the hopes I may learn to love his hobbies too! Our relationship was relatively fast paced as we both knew we were each other’s one. We share a mutual love for our darling rescue cat, Stormy. And although we haven’t had any adrenaline dates recently we love a Sunday brunch followed by watching UFC.

As well as our initial Wedding date having to be postponed due to COVID so have our travel plans, therefore we are currently spending our time renovating our home.

Tell us about your special day, was there a specific theme or style? Tell us a little about the setting, the styling and some of your favourite details:

The venue we chose is our favourite local restaurant (Moxie) which is only a few minutes from our home, it is set in a beautiful old villa, with a gorgeous courtyard where we held our ceremony. The team at Moxie we’re super accommodating to our needs and made our day flawless!

We wanted a relaxed environment with our priorities being great food, wine/beer and entertainment for our family and friends. We decided on a walk and fork style menu, which was perfect for us to mingle easily. Our band The Dobros played banger after banger and the dance floor was going off, it was fun to see our guests let their hair down!

Tell us about your main outfits:

I wore the Lovers Society – North Gown. I always wanted a fitted lace gown with sleeves and a low back, and when I saw the North Gown online I knew it was the one for me. Rue De Seine was the boutique that stock Lovers Society and the North Gown was the first I tried on and fell in love with! Mark wore a two piece Charcoal suit from Barkers and a crisp white shirt from 3 wise men.

What were some of the most memorable/unique moments from the day:

Very un-traditionally Mark and I both got ready at our home, it was nice to have that time together to calm each other’s nerves and anxiety prior to the ceremony. We wanted our ceremony to be fun and somewhat light-hearted, our Celebrant Hannah set the tone wonderfully and created a perfectly personalized ceremony for us. We both wrote our own vows and had no idea what each other had written, hearing these for the first time on the day was a beautiful surprise. Our fabulous celebrant also printed our vows for us and we both loved reading these back the day after.

Any advice for other couples planning to spend the rest of their lives together:

Make the most of the day, as they say, it will go so quickly – and it does! It will be the best day of your lives!
