HANNAH + ROB by Two Wild Hearts

Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love, what is unique about you and your relationship:

Rob and I met almost 7 years ago at a mutual friends house party. We hit it off straight away and have been together ever since

We love spending time together and going to the movies or a gig or just relaxing at home together reading or listening to music. Rob and I have always supported each other and I know if I’m having a tough day I can always tell him about it and he’ll cheer me up.

Tell us about your special day, was there a specific theme or style? Tell us a little about the setting, the styling and some of your favourite details:

Rob and I were engaged in January and married in September. We really enjoyed wedding planning and undertook a lot of DIY projects to make the day really special. We were so fortunate to find Tranquil Park in Maleny as we knew we wanted to have the ceremony and reception in the same place. As our wedding was on the Sunshine Coast hinterland we also wanted to incorporate lots of nature. I ordered roses from a local wholesale florist and picked up babies breath from flower markets. We also had olive branches for foliage and cut down a olive tree for plenty of branches! Our family and friends helped decorate and we really enjoyed setting up the space together. Other DIY projects included sewing the flower girls outfits, creating a arbour to be married under, making a neon sign, baking and decorating the cake. As our wedding took place under some COVID restrictions our guests weren’t allowed to dance. We really wanted to have our guests interact so came up with the next best thing. Wedding trivia! Our guests loved it! It was lovely that they could all still interact without moving around and it got quite competitive! If you’re looking for a creative wedding activity or have guests that don’t prefer dancing we definitely recommend trivia.

Tell us about your main outfits:

I found my gown after trying on LOTS of dresses. It is a French by Wendy Makin dress and just perfect! It was the dress I kept thinking about after the day I spent looking for dresses. I love the floral bodice and romantic tulle which looked stunning in the wind. I bought matching statement earrings from The White Collection and kept the bouquets simple with white roses to compliment the dress. The bridesmaids look beautiful in emerald green dresses from Shona Joy which suited the hinterland setting perfectly. Rob looked very handsome in his black Politix suit.

What were some of the most memorable/unique moments from the day:

Getting ready in the morning at my parents house was lovely. It was so nice to have the make up artist and hairdressers come to us and made the morning more relaxing. Of course walking down the aisle has to be the moment we’ll both remember forever! We loved celebrating and chatting with our family and friends at the reception too. Rob’s brother Michael also played guitar I walked down the aisle, and my brother Job joined him as we signed our marriage license.

Any advice for other couples planning to spend the rest of their lives together:

Enjoy the planning as much as you can. It’s so special if you can do some DIY together and really make the day personal for both of you. Overall, always make time for each other, whether it’s a date night, or a chat about your day.
