Issey Miyake – Fusion D’Issey

Grooming with Si Moore: Just like you should never read the comments at the bottom of stories on The Guardian, I promise you that the same rings true for the back of perfume packaging. “A vibrant aromatic breeze encounters the verticality of a solar amber…” WUT.

Listen forget that, but if you were a fan of the glorious classic l’eau d’issey then everything after it with the Miyake name is basically the same thing with hot-sauce – kinda like how Mexican food is different folds of the same tortilla, over and over and over again. Yes it’s fresh, yes it’s somehow woody at the same time (as in, burning incense woody, not woody woody), and yes it makes you want lemon sorbet almost instantly. I would definitely wear this to watch polo – I’ve never watched polo but I’d be keen to have a crack with Issey on board.

Actually, what I think they mean by ‘vibrant aromatic breeze’ is that it smells exactly like that flatmate you had a minor crush on back at uni who used to streak through the living room, fresh out of the shower, leaving a steamy trail of freshly-washed hair, and hope. That’s it. 100%.

Bio on Simon Moore…

Si was originally a musician before he discovered a passion and his talent for photography. We think he is somewhat of a creative genius with his multi-disciplinary sense of visual and audio style. We figure if you have proved yourself as a taste-maker across two disciplines you may as well throw a third in there too. Visual + audio and now scent – That and the fact that has photographed hundreds, if not thousands of weddings, which involves getting up close and personal with a LOT of people. He knows what smells good, and bad. And he’s serving it up like a fresh taco (he also has a degree in tacos) for you all right here.
