Ryan manages an IT company, and Jannah co-owns two businesses. We love adventures, travel, quality time, fitness, good food, and our two pugs- Milo + Hank…

Our relationship is unique as we met as flatmates. We formed a really close friendship over a year and a half, then after going to an out of town wedding together- realised there was more to it than friendship. Because of this we didn’t have any rose tinted glasses going into it, we had seen each other at our worst and still knew we had something special.

Tell us about your special day, was there a specific theme or style? Tell us a little about the setting, the styling and some of your favourite details…

Our setting was a beautiful old hall in Whangateau (between Omaha + Leigh), we had our ceremony in the field by the ocean at full tide, followed by grazing table/drinks caravan/games on the lawn, then the reception inside the hall. The styling was modern rustic- beautiful bamboo tables, glass/leather vases, raw steel arch, minimal florals, brass cutlery, festoon lighting, neon signage. My favourite details were the arch, the florals, the neon signage, and the beautiful tables which were the star of the show!

Tell us about your main outfits:

Jannah wore Made With Love bridal, Chaos + Hamony shoes, with Zoe and Morgan earrings. Ryan wore a YD. linen blazer with Merchant leather boots, shirt + pants were H&M.

What were some of the most memorable/unique moments from the day?

The first look- Ryan was waiting on the rocks by the ocean at a beach on a private property, I literally had to scale a fence in my wedding dress to get to him, I then had to navigate the sharp jagged rocks in my heels for the entire shoot. The photos were so worth it though..

Speeches- We had the most beautiful, tear jerker, hilarious speech moments that will never be forgotten.

Instead of a first dance Ryan sung Hootie & The Blowfish “Hold my hand” to me. He’s a drummer, so he drummed and sang on stage with a couple of friends before the hired band started- So cool…

Any advice for other couples planning to spend the rest of their lives together?

-Don’t sweat the small stuff

-Appreciate each other on the daily, and say it out loud don’t just think it

-Travel together at least once a year

-Always make time for date nights

-Always focus on the good not the bad
