Travel the world with Karl Lagerfeld

With carefully etched plans for a big European trip this summer now a distant memory, we’re having to seek new ways to escape the everyday.

Thankfully, two perfumes inspired by Karl Lagerfeld’s favourite corners of the world have touched down on shelves just in time.

First up: New York, Mercer Street. The late fashion mogul spent many happy moments in the concrete jungle with Soho taking on the role of his home-away-from-home.

Mercer Street danced as the backdrop to some of his fondest memories courtesy of its abundance of art galleries and ultra-chic boutiques.

The heady excitement of getting lost in the Big Apple for the first time is squeezed into this bottle with lively, spicy top notes of lime, basil and white pepper.

Punchy rhubarb and water jasmine evoke the familiar scent of flowering window boxes that line the streets while smooth wood and vetiver bring a touch of Manhattan suave.

This is a fragrance destined to be worn for city hall nuptials and slick hotel “I dos” alike.

Of course, the second fragrance pays homage to Paris – the city Lagerfeld put down his roots as a budding designer.

Named after his office, ‘21 Rue Saint-Guillaume’ features three of the most quintessentially French perfumery ingredients: rose, jasmine and gardenia.

Patchouli and sandalwood ground the scent, a romantic tribute to the city’s hidden cafes and charming bookstores.

One spritz and you’re in another world (without the need to book a plane ticket).

While we patiently wait to – hopefully – dig our passports back out next year, we’ll be finding great comfort from our bathroom shelf.

Coach Dreams is another fragrance we’ve been leaning on in recent months.

A celebration of the joy and friendship found on the great open road, it’s a gentle reminder to enjoy the adventure that can be found in everyday moments if you’re open to it.
