Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love, what is unique about you and your relationship…
Evan is a tradesman while I’m an early childhood educator. We both feel a natural pull towards the outdoors and emersing ourselves in nature and not taking ourselves too seriously.
We had met years prior to blossoming our relationship however the timing was never quite right. We kept in contact over the years and life kept pushing us together, even to the point of staying in the same hotel in Cairns on the same weekend! Finally we saw each other out one night in Cronulla and we have been making each others belly’s hurt with laughter ever since!
Tell us about your special day, was there a specific theme or style? Tell us a little about the setting, the styling and some of your favourite details…
We had an intimate ceremony of just 16 guests with a relaxed vibe. We were nestled in the heart of the Megalong Valley surrounded by beautiful mountains as far as the eye can see on the most beautiful property, Foys folly. Our amazing stylist Ash created a triangle arbour especially for the day which we absolutely adore! The grazing table was just delicious and the festoon lighting created an intimate feel for our grassy dance floor under the stars!
Tell us about your main outfits.
I found my dream dress during my very first visit to a Bridal store. As soon as I put her on I could tell she was the one and I didn’t have to look any further. As for Evan, his good friend Lee Swain helped him put his outfit together at the Academy Brand which we were so thankful for because Evan is pretty much allergic to shopping and needed all the help he could get!
What were some of the most memorable/unique moments from the day?
We snuck off with our photographer Dom for a special golden light picture on top of the mountains. This time was so special to reflect on our day together and as soon as we looked over the valley of mountains it was absolutely breath taking. I’d have to say the most unique moment was when Dom sent me through his favourite edited shots from the day at midnight after driving three hours home from our wedding so we could announce our special day to our loved ones! We couldn’t have asked for a better photographer and all round legend of a guy to capture our special day!
Any advice for other couples planning to spend the rest of their lives together?
Trust your instincts, stay true to yourself and what you want your day to be. If you can, keep it small and intimate and really feel and take in each special moment because it really does pass so quickly! Remember to always greet one another with a kiss hello and always find time to tell each other about your day and share a smile.
