SARA + CONNOR by The Augusts

Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love, what is unique about you and your relationship:

Sara is a small business owner and boutique lover and Connor is a full time student and part time bar tender. We met like so many millennials…by swiping right on tinder!

Our first date consisted of coffee, long conversations and most important, laughter. We had such a similar vision for our lives and chemistry that we knew we were in it for the long haul!

Tell us about your special day, was there a specific theme or style? Tell us a little about the setting, the styling and some of your favourite details:

Our vision for our wedding was something very free spirited. We were very inspired by more of the boho, desert kind of look so we knew we wanted a summer wedding.

We had a 50 person covid friendly wedding on a small local brewery farm. The ceremony and reception were both held outdoors(barefoot friendly!).

One of the best decisions we made was to have an intimate wedding photo shoot a couple days prior to the wedding. We wanted our wedding day to be stress free and be able to spend time with our guests for as long as possible !

We are both quite laid back and wanted to keep things simple and fun with a casual barbecue for dinner and a coffee truck to keep us dancing in the evening!

Our favourite details include the hand made arches and decor made my Dad and my long sleeved lace boho gown.

Tell us about your main outfits:

My dress was from an Etsy shop and at the time felt like a bit of a gamble ordering online but I knew exactly what style I wanted and was on a tight budget! After getting my dress altered I fell in love with the dress even more and felt so beautiful in it. My favourite part of it was the fringe and long sleeves.

Connors suit was from Club Monaco and we were so excited when we found it because we wanted something different. The rust colour was stunning and fit the vibe of our wedding perfectly. His bolo tie was from Etsy and shoes were vans.

What were some of the most memorable/unique moments from the day:

Being able to spend time and hangout with our guests was something truly special. Because we had such a small wedding it gave us the space to really engage and be apart of our wedding. Something we will cherish is how much FUN our wedding was, for us and our guests ! Looking around watching your favourite people smiling, laughing and dancing is the best feeling.

Any advice for other couples planning to spend the rest of their lives together:

Make time for each other and make decisions together. This day is about both of you and should be celebrated together. Don’t forget to ask for help from friends and family, they want to help! One more thing, stay as late as you can, the day will be over before you know it!
