Caccia Birch House is a beautifully restored heritage homestead set on the edge of Hokowhitu Lagoon in Palmerston North. A Category One-listed property with the Historical Places Trust, it sits proudly above the water on nearly three acres of established grounds, surrounded by manicured gardens and notable historic trees. The setting offers a unique “country in the city” atmosphere, just minutes from the city centre, Massey University, and the nearby sciences precinct.

Inside, the house retains its original architectural details across a range of elegant rooms including a formal dining room, drawing room, boardroom, and expansive verandas. The sunken rose garden, grand old tulip tree, and private Coach House courtyard provide idyllic spaces for outdoor entertaining, while the Coach House itself is ideal for receptions and workshops.

Caccia Birch is well-suited to both intimate and larger events—seating up to 50 people indoors, 30 in smaller rooms, and up to 80 for standing cocktail functions. Garden events can host even more, with contingency plans available for wet weather.

Flexible hire options include full or half-day bookings, indoor and outdoor ceremony settings, and BYO beverages. Clients may choose their own caterer or use the venue’s partner. The venue is well-heated for winter and supported by AV facilities, WiFi, and a dedicated team.
