couple of years. I had a huge crush on James but was too nervous to meet him in person despite the fact that we lived in the same city and had some friends in common. moved into our first apartment together and were putting things away when James found a ridiculous sparkly headband I\u2019d bought in high school and held on to for who knows whatever reason. would invite the people we love most to take part in the places and experiences we love most. We had everyone come out for a day trip to Governor\u2019s Island, a public park in New York harbor and one of our favorite places in the city, to explore. The ceremony and celebration were at our favorite restaurant in our neighborhood, where we\u2019ve had many excellent meals. Our wedding cake was from a local Brooklyn bakery where my dad orders me birthday cakes every year. And we invited people to post-wedding drinks at our beloved neighborhood burger bar around the corner, with bagels from our go-to bagel spot for breakfast the next morning.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Did anything happen on your wedding day that you laugh about in hindsight (even if it was stressful at the time)?<br><br><\/strong>I enlisted my friend Meg to pick up our wedding cake at the neighborhood bakery we ordered it from, just a few blocks away from the venue. When she got there the morning of the wedding, there was some sort of order mix-up where they didn\u2019t have a record of our cake. She very politely told them she wasn\u2019t going to leave without a wedding cake. They ended up finding our actual cake, but it was a stressful 30 minutes for Meg and we\u2019re grateful for her determination!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery columns-1 is-cropped
