One of our favourite initiatives is back for winter, the much-loved Dove Hospice & Wellness<\/a> x Karen Walker<\/a> pop-up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

From Friday the 1st of July until Sunday the 3rd of July, or while stock lasts, Karen Walker<\/a> will host a mini pop-up in her Newmarket store, offering an eclectic edit of one-of-a-kind pre-loved hand knits to fundraise for Dove. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dove Hospice & Wellness<\/a> fulfils an important role in the community, providing holistic care and support at no cost to people with life-threatening or terminal illness from the moment of diagnosis. Karen\u2019s own relationship with Dove began in 2016 after the death of her mother. She had taken donations to its Remuera shop and was touched by the care and gratitude Dove\u2019s team had taken with her mother\u2019s precious wardrobe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Dove Hospice & Wellness<\/a> x Karen Walker<\/a> pop-up, now in its fourth year, showcases just some of the pre-loved gems that can be found in the seven Dove Hospice Shops as well as their online and Trade Me shops. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Karen and the team at Dove have combed through the generous donations to the charity to present an eclectic edit of quality hand-knitted wool sweaters, cardigans, vests and accessories for adults and children. Each piece is one-of-a-kind, but all feature a common thread; they were lovingly made and worn before being donated to Dove Hospice & Wellness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Embodying community spirit, Regal Drycleaners, Karen\u2019s long-time neighbours a few doors down, have once again kindly pitched in with their services and all the knits have been dry-cleaned, ready for immediate wear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Karen says \u201cIt\u2019s heart-warming to have our clients and community support this pop-up year after year. We love seeing the delight on our customers\u2019 faces as they find a one-of-a-kind-piece to give new lease of life to, updating their wardrobes in the most sustainable way. We\u2019re also very grateful to Dove\u2019s generous donors who continue to give up these precious pieces to raise funds\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Simon Jones, Executive Director of Dove Hospice says, \u201cWe\u2019re delighted to partner with Karen Walker for the fourth year of this sustainable fashion initiative. These hand knits, kindly contributed by our community of donors, symbolise the warmth and care that we aim to provide to our service users and their families in their times of need.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Simon adds, \u201cThis year Dove Hospice & Wellness celebrates 30 years of delivering essential hospice<\/p>\n\n\n\n

services to our service users and their families at no charge. We\u2019re also taking the time to reflect on and recognise the amazing support we\u2019ve received from our community of volunteers, donors and staff \u2013 all of whom make what we do possible. We thank Karen and her team for being part of this support.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
