Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love…
As a good Gemini, Alizée has two careers, one as a fashion photographer and the other as an interior decorator. Romain the Capricone is an Architect. This gives a great insight into our couple, we are so different but complementary. We love life and its spontaneity (Romain is more square; he learned to love! Aha), the sun and the sea, travel, family and friends
How/where/when did you meet – and what were your first impressions?
We met in high school and had our first little love affair, only to not see each other again for 4 years and finally to meet again and never leave each other again.
Romain: I liked her immediately. I was intrigued by our differences. And I wondered why I had never seen it before!
Alizée: The first time I saw Romain was in the primary school playground. I think to myself, what a little idiot who steals everyone’s bikes! The second time was in high school. (I hadn’t made the connection with primary school. Seeing a photo of him as a child at his mother’s house, I said: Ah, but you were the little idiot from the schoolyard!!) I said to myself, he’s the most handsome one in the high school!
When did you first realise that this was someone you’d like to spend the rest of your life with?
It was something both of us were quite sure of pretty quickly, we got along so perfectly and often people would comment we were made that we were perfect for each other.
Quite quickly, when we no longer wanted to sleep without each other and without asking any questions, we began to live together naturally.
Was there a proposal? Tell us a little about it…
Romain organized a boat day. We both left for one of the most beautiful spots in the bay of Saint-Tropez, where the water is crystal clear and the atmosphere is idyllic. It was then that I saw in the distance my sister’s boat heading towards us, on board my two nieces dressed like princesses with flower crowns and bouquets, one of my favorite romantic music… We were alone in the world; it was heavenly, like an extract from a dream.
Tell us about the vision you had for the mood or style of your wedding.
We wanted something intimate, chic and simple at the same time in the colours of the horizon. A pastel setting. The simplicity of a barefoot stroll along the water’s edge that meets chic and the Tropezian night
What was one element you were happy to splurge on?
My wedding dress, of course! And our place, La Reserve at the beach, is a place that we love so much.
Did anything happen on your wedding day that you laugh about in hindsight (even if it was stressful at the time)?
The person in charge of the music at the church chose the wrong music for Alizée’s entrance… And started rap music. Some people laughed, others were surprised, and others less, thinking that it was his type… But still, rap for a church entry? No.. but for the exit, yes!! Aha, It was just bad timing. Alizée refused to enter the wrong music (a little emotion, please! A little tear all the same for such a beautiful dress!). We started again as if nothing had happened. At the moment a little stress today a funny, atypical anecdote!
Tell us about your main outfits, what was unique, is there a story? The history of the ceremony dress…
Like many brides I imagine: I had absolutely not imagined a dress so imposing, so majestic. I tried on a lot of dresses, but I didn’t feel good, not me in disguise. We arrived at Pronovias, my sister Alexandra, my niece Victoire and myself. Victoire looks at the dresses and stops on a dress in particular and shows it to me, I then tell her that it is gorgeous I saw them on the website but that it is not for me. The saleswoman tells me that this is indeed not a dress for a wedding in Saint-Tropez. So I tried several dresses, but nothing conclusive. When leaving, Victoire complained a little because I didn’t try on the dress she wanted. My sister then said to me “Let’s make her happy, we’re not even close to a fitting.” I put on this dress… I’m in the cabin, I haven’t seen myself, and I already feel that something is happening! I go out, I see everyone amazed even the saleswoman! I turn around to look at the mirror and wow, it’s love at first sight. Thank you, my loving niece, for insisting and imagining me in this dress.
