The story of Cameron Jewellery begins in March 1984. In the workshop of a small Palmerston North boutique, Peter Cameron was on a solo mission to push the boundaries of conventional design. Putting his traditional training to good use, he tirelessly handcrafted jewels that his neighbours would fall completely and utterly in love with.
Later that year, his wife Jill joined the business and the pair slowly made waves outside their brick-and-mortar walls and built a world-renowned jewellery haven together.
Over 45 years worth of experience and four stores later, Cameron Jewellery has found its forever home on King Street. But the family business has never lost touch of its family roots.
In a world of mass production, Cameron Jewellery’s commitment to craftsmanship has remained steadfast. A proud homegrown business, Peter and Jill can still be found in the workshop decades later. Their daughter Jessie has even jumped on board.

The team offer bespoke design consultations with an impressive in-store loose stone collection to choose from. During each consultation, Cameron Jewellery use photographs and drawings to bring their clients’ vision to life. Designs can be created using metal and stones on hand at the atelier or what you have to create something new.
Custom pieces aren’t limited to rings either with the option to create pendants, earrings, bracelets and cufflinks.
What’s really special about Cameron Jewellery is that no two pieces are ever the same. The talented team source stones which boast unusual cuts and hues.
In fact, they often seek inspiration in the stone itself and will seek out a style to complement it, rather than trying to find a stone to suit the jewellery. In turn, each piece is beautifully handcrafted for the individual client.
Cameron Jewellery is dedicated to using sustainable practices too with metals reused where possible. The team also offers repurpose fittings and will recycle stones. If you have a family heirloom that needs a little tender love and care, whether that’s an upgrade or complete overhaul, the jewellery atelier provides rhodium plating and remaking services.
