We met in January 2010 at my flat in Parnell while we were both at University. My flatmate Ben was a friend of Simon’s and once we had finally been introduced to each other, that was that. I knew I loved him after only 3 weeks and knew I would marry him one day.

Joel works as an IT Manager at the Trek Bicycle world headquarters in Wisconsin. Prior to that, he worked in Trek’s Australia office and also for a few years as a teacher. While biking has been a lifelong skill and passion, IT was something he had to learn quickly on the fly after taking a career opportunity to be back in the U.S. with me shortly after we met during his time at a job training he had here.

Elisse was born and raised in Vancouver, BC, Canada. Andres was born in Mexico City, Mexico. Their lives crossed paths in San Diego, California where they now live. Their relationship is much like everyone else’s and happened when they least expected it. When they met and got to know each other, every moment together has been better than their last.

We’re friends first and foremost and that says a lot about our relationship! We love traveling together and exploring, trying new things, laughing all day, and each other.
Last night we partnered with WORLD Brand to host a magical event to celebrate the launch of the latest fragrance Boronia created by the world-renowned florist, author and fragrance creator Saskia Havekes of Grandiflora.
We have been longtime followers and fans of Saskia, our Editor has followed Saskias floral work for a number of years and we first interviewed Saskia about her fragrances for issue four of Together Journal. To finally meet and be able to work with and interview Saskia in person was an inspiring experience. Saskia's journey and the story of her path to date is beautifully emotive and intriguing. There is no other fragrance creator quite like her. Saskia's depth of experience in the world of floristry, knowledge of botanicals and the time she spends every day working hands-on with transient varieties of flowers has given her a unique set of skills that have made her very desirable in the world of fragrance and she has worked with the very best modern masters of scent in the world to create her stable of floral based Eau De Parfums. We will be bringing you more on the story of Grandiflora along with fragrance and floral tips for weddings and occasions in issue twelve. In the meantime, you can experience all five Grandiflora scents at WORLD stores throughout New Zealand. All fragrances are also available online. I first spotted Chris when I was 12 years old, on the bus to my second day of high school. He was sitting at the back of the bus throwing his friend’s hat around in an attempt to impress a group of girls. I said to my friend “What a loser!” and we laughed.

We met 11 years ago through a mutual friend – we were both DJ’s, we bonded over music and fun times. Our relationship started very quickly, with me (Nicky) telling my friends, that I wasn’t looking for a realtionship and it certainly won't be serious! I was very wrong!

When we first met we both had pet dogs (I had Louie the Schnauzer X and Liam had Obi the German Shepherd) who were the same age so we would always look for opportunities to go for beach or park walks together. This is when the relationship really started to grow and we bonded over this common love of dogs!

I’m a jewellery designer with my own brand and store in East London where I specialise in alternative engagement rings and bespoke design. Mike works in men’s fashion at DSMR Showroom and Other Shop. We live together in East London but we met originally in New York in 2011. I had moved to New York for 3 months to study Diamond Grading at GIA when I met Mike who had been living there for 7 years (from Maryland originally). We met about halfway in to my time there and we became inseparable.
