Welcome to the Together Journal Cocktail club where we’re bringing you weekly cocktail recipes from some of our favourite local drink mixers + shakers for you to make in the comfort of your own home.

Today’s recipe in the Cocktail Club is another from Cote Catering & Events, following on from their frozen mango margarita we bring you another glorious marg and this time it’s the social media sensation, the coconut chilli margarita. So if you like your cocktails with a little bit of spice or want to see what all of the fuss is about, this is the one for you.

You’ll need:

60ml Tequila – we use 1800 coconut tequila religiously

30ml Cointreau

60ml fresh lime juice

60ml Ceres Organics tinned coconut cream

Desiccated coconut

Salt to rim

Chilli flakes

Ice

Method:

Add all ingredients to a blender with your handful of ice. Rim your glass with lime and dip in salt and desiccated coconut. Add a good pinch of chilli flakes to make it spicy.
