TJ Social + Creative Assistant

We are looking for a part-time Creative Assistant

We’re in search of a dynamic creative assistant to join our team part-time between 15 to 25 hours per week (we can be flexible based on skill set and availability). In this role, you’ll report to and collaborate directly with our editor, head designer and sales team, executing supporting tasks such as assisting with basic design, creating full-page magazine ads (we have design guides and templates), social media content creation and scheduling, web publishing and submissions, and various administrative duties as needed.

This person needs to be able to use InDesign. They will also ideally have exposure to WordPress or some other type of user-friendly website publishing tool (you don’t have to code – just web publish), Canva, Instagram scheduling tools, Pinterest and Facebook. They will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and it goes without saying they will have a huge love of all things wedding and occasion! Ideally, this person will be based in Auckland. But we will also consider applicants outside of Auckland in a similar time zone. This is a part-time contract position that works remotely the majority of the time.

This role could suit a design graduate or someone in their final years of studying design. Someone who has already worked in media, or it may also suit a wedding photographer, stylist or other type of wedding vendor who has been running their own wedding business but now wants to branch out into other areas within the wedding sector or have a side hustle alongside their wedding business.

What are our partners and customers saying…

“Together Journal are a rare mob that have nailed the perfect mix of design, storytelling, and empathy. As a photographer, it’s pretty wild to have my work handled by a design-minded, forward-thinking crew that are invested in being the example of how tradition in our industry can both evolve and be sidestepped. It was there for the taking – and they took it. As a couple, it’s a huge buzz to see all their hard work in putting together their wild wedding day, featured so gracefully in what will be a beautiful little time capsule.” – Oli Sansom, Briars Atlas (Photographer)

“We have just booked a real dream client that will give us great exposure because of you guys. She found your magazine on holiday and then booked us in London because of the Paris feature we had in the magazine, and we love you a MILLION for it!” – The Curries, International Wedding Photographers

“Together Journal provides a stand-out curated platform and offers a unique reach to the discerning couple. We’ve found that our clientele aligns, and our business has benefited from the successful partnership we share.” Tom Hollow – Photographer and Director at Hollow & Co

“I’ve been a part of the Together Journal boutique online directory for years, and it has proven to be an essential platform for my brand in attracting modern couples from across the globe. I loved Together Journal for direction and ideas when planning my own wedding in 2017. And now, in 2024, I have just bought the TJ Wedding Planner book for my soon-to-be sister-in-law. It’s such a beautiful planner, and I love what the team at Together Journal do.  Real Bride Kelly.

“Although we reside in New Zealand, we opted for a destination wedding in Spain! Together Journal was an invaluable source of inspiration and guidance. Among the many decisions we made, one of the best was selecting James Frost as our photographer, a choice we discovered through Together Journal magazine”e Real TJ couple who were featured in print in TJ – Francesca + Shane
