Preparation is key and we started this look with MAC Lightful C + Coral Grass Softening Lotion Spray which is a spray on hydrating lotion and can be used day or night to clarify, brighten and condition
For extra hydration and luminosity, we then applied Shiseido Synchro Skin Tinted Gel Cream, which has an SPF30 (great for a wedding day in summer). It’s so important to think about moisture base and preparation especially if you are a bride and need your beauty look to look photo fresh all day.
For foundation, we opted for Bare Minerals Bare Pro which we found at Mecca Beauty, it’s an oil-free formula and gives a flawless pore-free complexion. This foundation is lightweight and gives a natural photo-ready look. It also contains natural bamboo stem extract and papaya enzymes which gently resurface uneven texture. And its sets so you don’t need to worry about
Next, we added one of our favourite highlighters. The Météorites Highlighter Duo from Guerlain has two shades, rose and lilac which captures the light and brightens and enhance a natural complexion. We love how subtle and natural this highlighter is, its a safe option that looks glowy but not too over the top which can be a risk with highlighters. And we also love the French chic packaging.
Because the Météorites Highlighter Duo from Guerlain is quite subtle and the look we wanted to create is elevated and for the evening we opted to add a little more colour by layering the YSL Shimmer Rush multi colour blush to the cheekbones over the highlighter. We love the deco design of this gorgeous blush palette.
Eyes were the hero of this look and because we wanted a modern fashion look we decided to go bold with our use of colour. We used the Shimmer Rush All-over Glitter Face Palette by YSL. Such a versatile palette, but it is limited edition so don’t delay if you like the look of it.
The palette is made up of the following eye shadow shades: Pearly White – An eyeshadow that looks opaque white in the palette but once applied reveals a pale rose gold intensity. Iridescent Beige – A sandy gold shade for a sophisticated caramel beige look for the eyes. Glittery Copper – A burnished pink with soft, warm undertones to highlight the eyes. Glittery Purple – A daring lilac that shimmers intensely for a striking eye look as seen on our beautiful model Varena.

Our artist Olivia Wild applied eye shadow with her fingertips and used a mix of mainly the glittery purple with a hint of the glittery copper (
To keep the eyes our hero we opted for a statement mascara, BADgal BANG! volumizing mascara from Benefit. A volumising mascara that lasts up to 36 hours (perfect for wedding days).
And to accentuate brows we enhanced them with Gimme Brow a volumising brow gel, again by Benefit. This product creates brow volume and it tidies and tints.
On the lips, we looked to Mellow Cosmetics and used their Creamy Matte Lipstick in the Nude shade. This is one of our favourite Mellow products, it’s exceptionally rich and hydrating. The Mellow lipsticks are very highly pigmented, velvety smooth and long-wearing. We would even go as far as to say that they are some of our favourite lipsticks and we have used them regularly in our beauty shoots. The team at Together Journal also love these lipsticks and use them regularly because they are so nourishing.
