A John Zimmermann gown is created entirely around the woman who will wear it, reflecting her individual style, preferences and proportions in a design that feels truly her own.
For John, designing a gown is a creative journey and an experience he wants every client to genuinely enjoy. From the first consultation through to the final fitting, the process is personal, collaborative and considered, with the ultimate aim of making every woman feel special, confident and completely herself on her wedding day.
Brides can browse the John Zimmermann collection for inspiration or bring their own ideas to a personal consultation with John. Together, they develop a vision for the wedding gown, which is then brought to life by John and his team in his Auckland studio. Every gown is proudly made in Auckland, New Zealand.
A bridal couturier and artist with more than 20 years of experience, John has created gowns for hundreds of local and international brides, as well as celebrities and mothers of the bride. His depth of experience underpins a highly personal approach to design, fit and construction.
Throughout the process, brides are invited to a series of fittings, allowing the gown to evolve as it takes shape. Details can be added, refined or removed, and the fit perfected until both John and his client are completely happy with the result.
The intention is to create a gown in which a bride looks and feels her very best, while creating something with enduring meaning. A John Zimmermann gown may ultimately become a treasured family heirloom, carrying the memory of one of life’s most significant occasions into the future.
