Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love, what is unique about you and your relationship:
Michaela is a Cancer Care Nurse and Adam is a buyer for a national jet ski and marine company. We met 2 and half years ago on Tinder as people do these days. Not expecting to find each other as we had both had previous life experiences and knew what we wanted.
We are very much alike and consider each other best friends. We talked for about 2 weeks before going on our first date – since then have been inseparable.
Tell us about your special day, was there a specific theme or style? Tell us a little about the setting, the styling and some of your favourite details:
We knew we wanted the day to be intimate with the people closest to us, we wanted it to be about us and not the ‘traditional’ hustle, bustle and stress that some weddings can come with.
We decided to not have a bridal party, and invite those family and friends that we are closest to in a chilled out Sunday afternoon ceremony and reception.
We like the simple things in life and wanted rustic elements in spring wedding where it wasn’t too hot nor too cold.
Tell us about your main outfits:
My dress was from ASOS and was the 3rd dress I had bought, being pregnant at the time. I had chosen something quite simple to start with, then when I saw Adam in his wedding attire on the day we picked it out, I knew I had to have something special. That’s when I found the ASOS dress. I had it altered to fit me perfectly and I am so glad I went with this one.
Adam’s jacket, pants, shirt and tie were from Peter Jackson. Adam already had in his mind what he wanted to wear and he likes good quality. The gentleman in Peter Jackson was very friendly and helpful and as soon as Adam tried this ensemble on we knew it was the one.
Keanu (our son) walked me down the aisle, we wanted his outfit to resemble Adam’s as much as possible. After looking in a lot of stores we ended up finding one in H&M kids that perfectly matched Adam’s.
What were some of the most memorable/unique moments from the day:
Standing at the alter together knowing we were both so nervous yet excited at the same time! Adam’s opening line of his vows were the funniest part of the day.
A special moment was being able to have Keanu walk me down the aisle and witness him be such a gentleman by opening the car door for me and ensuring the train of my dress was off the ground without having to be asked.

Any advice for other couples planning to spend the rest of their lives together:
Focus on what is important to you, after all it’s your day. Listen to what each of you want, you both have a say. Shop around, talk to other couples. Find a moment on the day where you really savour it and take it all in because before you know the day has ended.
