Black Finch – Men’s Engagement Rings

Sculptural signets and modern heirlooms for men.

Black Finch’s latest collection reframes the engagement ring as an object of self-expression rather than tradition. Bold, sculptural and refreshingly unconcerned with convention, the Melbourne jeweller’s new men’s engagement offering places individuality, adornment and personal style at the centre of the conversation.

For years, engagement jewellery for men occupied a quiet corner of the industry and was often treated as secondary to bridal design. Black Finch challenges that notion entirely. Known for its contemporary and non-traditional approach to fine jewellery, the brand has long resisted the idea that adornment should be confined by gender or expectation. This latest collection feels less like a departure and more like a confident continuation of that philosophy.

Sculptural Forms and Statement Pieces

Developed from late 2025 and completed in April 2026 by Creative Director and lead designer Davina Adamson, the collection comprises six engagement rings alongside a necklace and the brand’s first-ever brooch. Together, the pieces explore texture, weight and proportion through brushed gold, unconventional gemstones and bold architectural forms. There is a tactile and almost storied quality to the collection. Each piece feels discovered rather than simply designed.

At a moment when jewellery is becoming increasingly gender-fluid and deeply personal, the brand’s perspective feels especially relevant. Men’s engagement rings are no longer viewed as novelty pieces or symbolic afterthoughts. Instead, they are emerging as extensions of personal style. They feel equal parts heirloom and statement accessory. Black Finch leans confidently into this shift, celebrating everything from understated signets to unapologetically gem-set pieces.

The Standout Designs

Among the standout designs is the Dune Champagne Diamond Ring, the collection’s most valuable piece. A rare emerald-cut champagne diamond sits atop a brushed matte dome band in white gold. The softened finish allows the stone’s warm tone and elongated facets to take focus. The result is quietly dramatic and unmistakably refined.

The introduction of the Onyx Brooch further highlights the brand’s fashion-forward approach. Designed to drape across tailoring, the piece features two octagonal black onyx plaques framed in yellow gold and connected by a silver chain. Worn across a lapel or collar, it taps into fashion’s renewed fascination with decorative menswear and jewellery as an extension of personal style rather than mere occasion dressing.

Jewellery Without Rules

What ultimately distinguishes Black Finch is its refusal to sanitise jewellery into something overly minimal or polite. Emotion and irreverence run throughout the collection. This can be seen in the richly textured finishes, unusual stones and substantial forms. These are pieces designed not simply to mark commitment, but to celebrate identity, individuality and the pleasure of adornment itself.

Handcrafted in Melbourne using ethically sourced materials and conflict-free gemstones, each design can also be customised through the brand’s bespoke process. Wearers are invited to create pieces that feel entirely their own. In a jewellery landscape increasingly defined by self-expression over tradition, Black Finch’s latest collection arrives perfectly in step with the moment.
