Blooms of the week – Lu Diamond

Peonies are Beyond!! They are actually mental – once they are fully blown with all their ruffled pillow like petals I am reminded why I love them so much.

We all know that peonies are here for a good time not for a long time, which adds to their magic. They dominant any arrangement and are extremely good at being time wasters…(just a couple more photos!!)

Next year I am moving to New Plymouth where I plan to start growing my own flowers. I have been told that the climate is not quite right to grow peonies there, though I am still going to give it a crack. Wish me luck!!

My pink peony explosion also has opium poppies, white hippeastrum and a few stems of deep pink Manuka. A bold yet simple bouquet perfect for any modern bride.
