Blooms of the week – Wanaka Wedding Flowers

AIC_FC_011

When lovely bride Melissa asked me to create her wedding bouquet her colours were mint, lemon, chartreuse and gold. From that moment I knew her wedding would be special and inspiring. It was fun to come up with something that was a little bit different…..

Melissa’s bouquet was large consisting of many flowers for a ‘hand held’ bouquet. We used chartreuse Singapore orchids, just enough to lift her shoe colour, lime anthuriums, soft green carnations,  brassica and eucalyptus leaves, yellow dahlias, craspedia, and roses, and a few white snow berries to pop through the colour. Melissa herself is quite a character so I felt the bouquet suited her personality and 1950s style dress – always so important when discussing wedding flowers. It was so much fun putting everything together and the photos from Alpine Image Co were amazing with the Autumn leaf colours blending with the dresses and shoes. It’s such a privilege to be part of a bride’s special day and this one was no exception.
