Cass & Jacob by Carla Mitchell

Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love, what is unique about you or your relationship…

I would say we complement each other perfectly.  Jacob is super laid back and very level headed.  Cass is the organiser, the planner and the one who keeps our little family running smoothly.

Both working in the property industry, we are pretty passionate about all things real estate. In July 2018 we welcomed our son, Oliver, into the world.  It’s safe to say that he is our number one priority and he keeps us pretty busy – we’re both obsessed with him!  We also enjoy playing golf, the beach, heading out for coffee and trying out new restaurants.

Tell us about your special day, was there a specific theme or style? Tell us a little about the setting, the styling and some of your favourite details…

Our wedding style was classic, minimalist and elegant.  We went for a black-tie dress code which we felt suited the location, venue and weather perfectly.  We had minimal florals and decorations as the venue and back drop really spoke for itself and our tables were lined with candles. We treated our day as a big party – two long tables sharing a meal with all our favourite people in one room followed by hours of dancing and good cake!  You really can’t beat Jacks Point.  The setup, the food and the styling were absolutely immaculate and no matter how many times we look at the photos, we never get over the breath-taking views of the Remarkables in the background.

Tell us about your main outfits:

Jacob wore a custom black-tie suit from Suit Supply.  His jacket was a classic black velvet. Cass wore a fitted gown with hand beaded bodice from Karen Willis Holmes.

What were some of the most memorable/ unique moments from the day?

Our day was just perfect.  We had 80 guests who had flown in mostly from home in Australia with some guests traveling all the way from San Francisco and Boston.  It is really hard to pick the best moments from the day as everything from start to finish was absolutely perfect and we really wish we could relive every second.  For us, the best part was having our then 9 month old son there for our big day.  It was really special having him involved and there to witness such an important milestone.

Any advice for other couples planning to spend the rest of their lives together?

Weddings are a lot to plan and organise.  Don’t be afraid to get professional planning assistance, they know best!  You only do it once, so do it properly!
