We were never very taken with the ‘traditional’ wedding style. We really wanted to create something that was true to our own style – it had to be colourful, full of fun, and of course, include some deliciously big sleeves.
We met through friends. On our first date over a jug of sangria, there was an immediate spark and we couldn’t wait to see each other again.
I wanted our wedding to be fun, playful, and give all the spring vibes. Spring is my favourite season because the world comes back to life and all the flowers are just unbelievable at this time. The venue was very white. White exterior, white walls etc… so I knew adding some colour to the place would make a big impact.
Leo — It was the summer of 2012. I was straight out of university and looking for a place to lodge. I successfully landed a roommate interview with Jen. Little did I know that the interview would lead to a four-hour conversation about anything and everything. Jen is incredibly beautiful and within those four hours, I could already see a rare kindness and generosity that drew me in. I’m truly grateful that I landed that interview
We both discussed settling down and starting a family quite early so it was clear to us that we felt we had found ‘the one’. The connection between us was instant and so effortless, so we both knew it felt right.
I thought my spontaneity was my weapon. I could catch her off guard at the town where we first met – Nelson. We were hiking in the hills and as we hopped out of the car to start our ascent, I saw a plastic tie from a houseplant that we’d just purchased – That could work… I knew this was the time. She must’ve just looked particularly marriable that day outside on the street. We hiked up and I accidentally shifted us up the wrong path… Carla was in jeans. It was hot. She was sweaty. She was angry. I began to doubt my impulsive decision.
We moved along the plateau, and the sweat dried. She calmed down a bit. This was my chance… And she said YES! After the obligatory, “Are you serious?”, of course.
We became friends at school and started dating soon after Sam graduated, my first impression of Sam was that he was so kind and hilarious.
Dedo is a man of another era for his elegance, his romanticism and the values that he protects with determination every day. we believe in the real things, in love, in joy, in family and friends and in living each day to the fullest.
My vision when planning our wedding was always to be timeless and elegant. The colour scheme from the beginning was always going to be white, beige, and sandy tones.
We decided to celebrate our civil marriage coinciding with our twenty-fifth anniversary together. Turning 25 years of a relationship is not easy, but things have been happening naturally since we moved in together. We can say that we have always had each other through thick and thin.
We vibed immediately and our relationship has always been very simple and easy. That being said, I’m American and my visa was due to expire within the first 18 months of our relationship. This definitely expedited the seriousness of our relationship, and we then went through the vigorous partnership visa process. So although we’ve only just married, we’ve been in a formal partnership for quite some time!
Jeroni and I met while studying in the first year of high school, fifteen years ago in our hometown, Lleida, which is an hour far from Barcelona. We are “lifelong partners”. Since then we are together and have lived in different places like Vienna, China and London.
