Catherine & Calvin by Bulb Creative

Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love, what is unique about you and your relationship… Calvin and I have been together for 10 years.

Our favourite thing to do together is to eat and cook, which is what we do for most of our free time. We love exploring and trying out new places to eat and drink all over Los Angeles County.

Tell us about your special day, was there a specific theme or style? Tell us a little about the setting, the styling and some of your favourite details … The style of our day was to go with the flow! When we saw the Elopement Collective and Bulb Creative were going to be in Yosemite National Park, we just knew we had to make it work.

With the guidance of our team, we chose to have the ceremony at Taft Point at last light, which was beautiful. We then woke up at sunrise for some beautiful portraits at El Capitan Meadow.

We were thrilled to not have to worry about anything and just focus on us and our vows. Britt from the Elopement Collective organised the timeline and florals, Josh spoke beautiful words over our marriage and took care of the legals stuff, and Bulb Creative captured it all for us through photo and film to remember forever.

Tell us about your main outfits: Calvin wore a 2 piece blue suit from Suit Supply. Simple yet dressy.

I wore a dress made and designed by Vietnamese designer Thai Nguyen (Thai Atelier). I love the elegance and modern take on the dress. And because it’s quite simple, I was on the lookout for something a little different to dress it up and that is why I went with a capelet made by BHLDN.

What were some of the most memorable/unique moments from the day? All of it was so memorable! From the amazing landscapes of Yosemite. The colours of the sky at the magical hour of sunset. The way we were treated by our Elopement team.

Getting married is so nerve racking, but Ainsley, Harley, Josh, and Britt treated us like we were old friends. They made us feel so comfortable, loved, and beautiful! The whole process was truly a dream.

Any advice for other couples planning to spend the rest of their lives together? Communication! After 10 years, we are still fine tuning, but to keep things open, honest, and to keep the dialogue love filled. Also, if it isn’t so love filled, being able to apologise and to not keep any grudges.
