Encapsulating the magic of an intimate winter wedding in Melbourne, the historic charm was seamlessly fused with sophisticated and romantic modernity, brought to life by a team of Melbourne’s prominent and emerging creatives.
Located in the heart of inner-city Collingwood, iconic heritage-listed former church, Chapel1885, provided the perfect canvas for this moody and romantic setting. While showcasing the classic elegance of the space, modern elements were integrated to create a contemporary yet enchanting atmosphere.
The ceremony setting was adorned with floral and produce sculptures, paired with candlelit ambience against the backdrop of the old church altar. Draped plinths in flowing red and burgundy fabrics enhanced the scene’s romantic allure.
The reception featured sleek draped linens, minimalist seating, modern hanging florals, hand-written menus accented with lush silk ribbons, and a centrepiece cake. The setting complemented the stunning wooden ceiling beams and arched windows of the venue perfectly. Rays of natural light streamed through, beautifully illuminating the space as moments were captured.
Paying homage to the non-traditional, our bride exuded effortless elegance in a floral applique mini dress with a laced corset bodice, meticulously crafted by Mia Atelier and styled with red kitten heels. Hair and makeup were kept natural yet modern; her hair was swept into a ‘cool girl’ bun, and her makeup highlighted her glowing skin with winged eyeliner to add an edgy touch. Her bouquet, a unique blend of pitcher plants, roses, calla lilies, and anthuriums in bold shades of red, completed her contemporary look.
