There is a new energy, full of romance and freedom.
‘Romantica’ is rich in warmth, the winter capsule collection consists of bold jacquard fabrics, strong colours, beautiful textures and of course Miss Crabb’s signature full-volume silhouettes. The styles almost echo an unknown origin and an unknown sense of time. New ‘Red Choir’ coat-frock is the standout piece, made in wool jacquard with a dramatic silhouette. The forever coveted ‘Modern Times’ coat from seasons past is back with a new look in grey and red tartan, and a special new pieces is the ‘Bic Runga’ dress. Originally designed in white satin for Bic’s 20th Anniversary tour celebrating her first album Drive late last year. [Kristine] Crabb loved it so much she had to make it for everyone, this time in exotic Cherry Blossom Viscose.
The campaign-style lookbook shoot takes inspiration from the surrealist film; ‘The Cook, The Thief, His Wife and Her Lover’, with themes surrounding decadence, beauty, black humour and obscenity. Working with Oliver Guyon and Andrei Blidarean – Kristine’s favourite duo at the moment – they bring these themes to life, further exploring Flemish renaissance painting and it’s romantic lavish aesthetic and painting style. Feast your eyes on the lavish bed banquet, exotic fruits & vegetables as accessories and over the top flowers, shot in a playful contemporary way which makes the images so ambiguous and intriguing.
Romantica winter eighteen will be available in-store and online from Wednesday 11 April. Shoot details:
