We realised we had met our equal match the minute we spoke to each other and have been inseparable ever since. “Whatever souls are made of his and mine are the same” (Wuthering Heights, Emily Brontë).

We are not the opposites attract couple. We have many shared passions, we are both avid foodies and would devote all our time to learning new skills in the kitchen if we could, we love frequenting bars for unique cocktail ideas, Dimitri especially is a keen mixologist. We both work in media and we are travelers of the world who are happiest when exploring, hiking and pushing ourselves to the next adventure. The running joke with all our friends is the sheer number of countries we visit each year, so it was only fitting that we should have a destination wedding. We had been to Goa on holiday before and we love the happy chaos and hippie vibe it has and after seeing photos of another wedding there, we decided it would be the perfect place for us to marry. It was wonderful having all our loved ones in Goa and we felt so honored with the huge effort people made to get visas and travel so far. For many guests it was their first time in India. We had an entire weekend of parties and celebrating. On the actual wedding day we both spent precious time with our family and friends relaxing by the pool and enjoying each others company. The ceremony was stunning and full of love, I did my best not to cry, which I only succeeded in due to having the most hilarious priest perform the ceremony. We both love Wes Anderson films, in-fact Darjeeling Limited is up there as one of our favourite films of all time. So this became the over riding theme for our wedding, we also wanted Marigolds to feature strongly throughout as a nod to the traditions and colours of India. One of the highlights of the wedding was a surprise night market we created for guests on-site at the hotel on the tennis courts. We had market vendors giving away shawls, costume jewellery, handmade bangles, a tarot card reader, a candy floss stand and lots of traditional Indian games. This time also doubled as our cocktail hour before the dinner and speeches so guests were free to explore our own personal night market with cocktails in hand. It was completely magical and executed to perfection by our planners and stylists the Cherry On Top Events team. We are so happy we got to declare our love for each other in such a beautiful spot and in front of the people closest to our hearts. We threw the party of our lives and they in turn celebrated our love. It was the most magical weekend and one that we will cherish forever.
