We got engaged six months after we met — Rob proposed with a burger ring. We wanted our wedding to be casual and relaxed with a minimal, pared-back feel. We felt like the scenery and venue spoke for itself, so we only needed to add some lush greenery and festoon lighting to make it perfect. We had Ferrero Rocher chocolates with name tags as our seating plan, and a guest book from Hope & Page with a Polaroid camera so guests could add their photos and messages. I let the bridal party choose their outfits to make sure everyone had their own style and felt comfortable. Some of the most memorable parts of the day would have to be walking down the aisle to a beautiful song written and performed by our best man, Christian Lo Russo. The food was also a highlight: it was a delicious BBQ-style collection of shared plates. Another highlight would have to be drinking our first glass of champagne in engraved crystal flutes, which were a gift from Rob’s parents, and catching our flower girl trying to steal a kiss from the pageboy! My advice for the big day would be not to sweat the small stuff on the day. Let someone else do all the stressing for you and enjoy yourself. Oh and make sure you nail the playlist!
