Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love, what is unique about you and your relationship

James and I were set up by a mutual friend, things progressed pretty quickly as we both knew from the start it was right. We got engaged in Queenstown at Easter this year, and married not too long after.

James has a construction company in Christchurch (Milne Construction), and I own two laser and skin rejuvenation clinics (thecosmeticclinic.co.nz).  We’re both driven & dedicated to our businesses, we’re also social and have close families who we see as much of as possible.

Tell us about your special day, was there a specific theme or style? Tell us a little about the setting, the styling and some of your favourite details…

Our home is made for parties, and we wanted to throw a large one! Gathering all of our loved ones under one roof, filling the place with laughter, great food,  wine & music. It was the middle of winter so the fires were on, lots of our guests were in fur. The place was filled with flowers & candles it had aT

Tell us about your main outfits:

I feel very lucky to have found my dress; I’d flung over to Sydney thinking I was after something low key and cocktail, but we stumbled across Stevens boutique in Paddington and I was instantly in love. He doesn’t usually sell off the rack but this was there, and it fit me! I’m glad I went for a bridal look, not cocktail, you’re only a bride once right!? What were some of the most memorable/unique moments from the day?

We chose to have our photos before the ceremony, I’m so happy we did as it meant I got to spend more of the day together. Having the relaxed time with our families was great. Seeing my Fathers face when he saw I was wearing his Mothers broach was a real highlight.

My sister was my Maid of Honour, and my other besties were with me the night before and day of the wedding. Given how busy everyone’s lives are, and that we’re all living in different parts of NZ and Australia, it was great to have so many hours of dedicated catching up time. That’s priceless. Any advice for other couples planning to spend the rest of their lives together?

We’re only at the beginning of the ‘rest of our lives’ journey, so I feel it’s a bit rich dishing out advice!

However, I would say, take the time to pick your mate, make sure you’ve got values, morals and manners that are in line. Realise you won’t always agree but make sure you respect each other always and be open to your differences. Have fun, laugh lots and cuddle often.Categories: Weddings-Rosa + James - Photography by Sarah Clements PhotographyCategories: Weddings-Rosa + James - Photography by Sarah Clements PhotographyCategories: Weddings-Rosa + James - Photography by Sarah Clements PhotographyCategories: Weddings-Rosa + James - Photography by Sarah Clements PhotographyCategories: Weddings-Rosa + James - Photography by Sarah Clements PhotographyCategories: Weddings-Rosa + James - Photography by Sarah Clements PhotographyCategories: Weddings-Rosa + James - Photography by Sarah Clements PhotographyCategories: Weddings-Rosa + James - Photography by Sarah Clements PhotographyCategories: Weddings-Rosa + James - Photography by Sarah Clements PhotographyCategories: Weddings-Rosa + James - Photography by Sarah Clements PhotographyCategories: Weddings-Rosa + James - Photography by Sarah Clements Photography
