Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love, what is unique about you and your relationship…
Josh and I met almost 10 years ago at the Yarra Glen Races. Together we love to travel, try new things and just enjoy life together!
Josh works for himself at Thermal Tech Refrigeration, a company he and our best man Todd started together in 2016. I work in the dental industry and have for 8 years.
Josh and I met when I was still in school. We feel privileged to have met as young as we did, we have been able to watch each other grow into the people we are today and have a special bond because of it.
Tell us about your special day, was there a specific theme or style? Tell us a little about the setting, the styling and some of your favourite details…
We got married on top of the hills at The Riverstone Estate, a stunning look out onto the mountains and valleys surrounding us. We built an arbour by hand which we stood underneath with our celebrant and bridal party.
When planning our wedding the theme started off a little bit bohemian, after the dress and hair were sorted we stuck to a more modern theme. We created our own dessert buffet with assorted sweets from Sweet Addiction Confectionary and Chocolate 95 and made the backdrop which had gorgeous floral arrangements by Debbie!
Being a cocktail wedding we were conscious of our guests comfort. We arranged comfort items like thongs, bathroom supplies, bottles of water, fans and blankets for the cooler weather. There’s nothing worse than being at a wedding wanting to dance but your feet are killing you!
Tell us about your main outfits:
Josh and the groomsmen wore a beautiful royal blue suit, they each had a handmade leather bowtie. The bridesmaids wore a deep burgundy dress, sketched and made by River. I wore a full length lace dress with a gorgeous low back and shoes to match from Grace loves lace. I didn’t want to wear a veil so Bessy my hairdresser stuck gold foil leaf in my hair to match the cake!
What were some of the most memorable/unique moments from the day?
Something I won’t ever forget is the moment I walked down the aisle, the celebrant had asked everyone to stand and cheer which I didn’t know about, I walked down the aisle to a lot of love! At the end of the aisle was Josh, waiting with tears in his eyes!
We also had our first dance outside, under the festoon lights as the sun went down. Our bridal party and family joined us and there was a lot of laughter.
Any advice for other couples planning to spend the rest of their lives together?
Just take everything in. Don’t live for the next moment or the next holiday, live for now and do it with your partner. Because when you find that special person forever really isn’t long enough.
