TONY—We met on New Year’s Eve 2014 at a party at The Deck in St Kilda. We had mutual friends in common. Gabby always likes to mention that “she started talking” to me but I like to claim that “she rejected my offer of an Espresso Martini.”….
In saying that though I knew straight away Gabby was the girl I would marry, and here we are at The Deck in St Kilda celebrating our love. It made sense to have our wedding at The Deck at Circa, it was perfect for us because it was where it all started. We knew we were extremely compatible, everyone who knows us best said as soon as they met us they thought “yes, this is it,” it seemed so obvious and we definitely felt the same. We complement each other perfectly – each of our strengths, is the other person’s weakness. We think this is a great premise for a long and happy life. I genuinely never thought I would love someone so wholeheartedly as I do Gabby, from her kind and caring nature to the values she holds close, her outlook on situations and even her overly expressive hand actions; to name one thing I love most about Gabby wouldn’t do her justice.
GABBY—The proposal was pretty magical, just like a scene from a movie. We were on holiday in Paris, my favourite city, and Tony proposed under the twinkling lights on a quiet night. I love how Tony makes me feel like a queen every day. I still get goosebumps when I see him, even after two and a half years together. Our whole journey has been magical. The thing we love most is the simple day to day – we laugh, love and enjoy spending time together. We feel like we have married our best friend and this is the most special and important thing to us. Our wedding was very personal. We had a Persian wedding ceremony, and there were personal touches to many elements. My sister designed and printed the decorations and table icons, which we loved. It was so nice having family members contribute to the details. Jai our photographer made us feel relaxed and calm and we hardly noticed him taking photographs. We didn’t want the day to end, we danced and danced with friends and family and our little nieces, took selfies at the selfie stations and drank espresso martinis.
