Sacha + David by Jack Stocker

A joyful, relaxed celebration by the sea.

Sacha and David briefed planner Lucy from Wiskow & White with a simple but deeply felt intention: their wedding should feel less like a formal occasion and more like an expansive celebration. They wanted something vibrant, warm and full of life.

For Sacha, who grew up by the water in Byblos, a historic coastal town in Lebanon, a seaside setting felt instinctive. Sacha found La Tonnara by chance and was instantly drawn to its weathered stone, salt-tinged air, and expansive views. The couple quickly worked with Lucy to secure La Tonnara, as it was the perfect place to hold the celebration the couple had imagined. Sacha and David wanted their guests to feel valued and immersed in the experience, shoes kicked off, laughter spilling, music carrying the mood late into the day.

On the morning of the wedding, many of their guests swam and gathered by the water, a memory the couple treasures. Sacha stayed with them until early afternoon before finally heading off to get ready, a perfect reflection of the easy, unhurried tone they envisioned. While the couple did not begin with a strict aesthetic concept, their planner, Lucy, understood them immediately. She introduced brightness, lightness and playfulness, grounding every element in authentic Sicilian detail. The styling felt modern yet deeply connected to La Tonnara’s raw and natural character. One of the standout visual aspects was the floral ceremony installation: a bold, expressive arrangement set against the expanse of sea and stone, energising the space without overwhelming it.

Storytelling also appeared through stationery. Custom illustrations referencing local myths and symbols, including sea stacks, mermaids, and tuna, appeared across tablecloths, the aperitivo bar, and in subtle design touches throughout the day. Another deeply personal element came from Sacha and David’s long-held tradition of writing short letters to one another while travelling. Excerpts were incorporated into the order of service and other printed details, weaving their shared history softly into the celebration. Planning a three-day wedding in Sicily in under a year, with demanding work schedules and guests travelling from across the world, could easily have become overwhelming. However, Lucy and co-planner Danielle guided the journey with clarity and calm, enabling the couple to remain present and engaged throughout the experience. Music formed the heartbeat of the celebration. A fusion of live Lebanese performance and DJ sets carried the day forward with shifting energy and a sense of connection.

The entrance to dinner was particularly unforgettable: as DJ Richa played Fred Again’s “I adore you,” guests flowed onto the dance floor in a spontaneous wave of joy, embodying everything the couple hoped their wedding would be. Photography played a central role in the experience. Jack documented the day with remarkable sensitivity and presence, creating images that feel not just seen, but felt. And perhaps the most meaningful moment of all came at the altar.

With the sea glimmering behind them and the people they love gathered around, the ceremony held a profound sense of peace, gratitude and shared joy. Exactly the experience the creative team hoped to create for the couple: joyful, inclusive and full of love.
