Sustainable Seaside Styled Shoot

This shoot was created with a sustainable and minimal waste concept in mind. Inspired by the surrounding ocean and the wild and untamed nature of the flora of the Sorrento area.

In creating this concept, we used absolutely no single use plastics or floral foam. We wanted to show how thoughtfulness in design can lead to a detailed, elegant and eco-conscious wedding…

All florals incorporated were locally sourced from Australia or ethically foraged, and our stationery and signage was compostable or recyclable.

From a styling perspective we wanted to reuse items we already had, digging into our stylist’s textile archive, working with spare chiffon to create romantic draped moments. We love the way the light bounced off the crystal cut glassware in this shoot – the way light would hit the water of the sea and sparkle. We used slubbed and naturally textured linens to pair with the textured landscape of the beach setting whilst juxtaposing this with soft draping chiffon and luscious roses.

We really wanted you to get a feel of the styling being both minimal and considered – yet luxurious, with gold elements and crystal cut glassware. We kept florals to a minimum here, holding back and allowing each stunning garden rose to have its moment amongst the wild natural twisty willow sprouting from the ground. Something we included that was a little different to the norm was Tremella – a white Chinese snow fungus which was a very fun use of texture.
