Tanya & Matteo – by Lana Ivanova

The beautiful wedding of Tanya & Matteo as featured in Issue 14 …

Tanya is the founder of Oh Flora Studio, an event and floral design company and Matteo is an HR advisor.  We love to travel and summer is our absolute favourite time of year. There’s nothing better than hanging out ocean-side with our dog, cooking together, hosting friends and mixing cocktails.

Tanya: Matteo constantly reminds me that anything really is possible. He is unbelievably supportive of every crazy idea I have and does whatever he can to help me put turn my dreams into reality  He’s got the kindest heart and is that person everyone wants to know and be friends with, he’s charming & so thoughtful. I love that we can be doing everything or nothing and always having a good time!

Matteo: Tanya is the most honest person I’ve ever known. Tanya will never let her integrity be compromised, she stands firm and strongly believes that the most important thing you can do in life is help those around you, a belief we share. Tanya is a seriously strong force. I’ve never met anyone with so much grit and determination. She is extremely independent and a hard worker (her thousands of fans will agree!) and has proven time and again that she always achieves what she puts her mind to. I truly believe she has unlimited potential.

We only had 33 guests at our wedding & absolutely loved having an intimate wedding, spending time with each guest was so special. The flowers and overall feeling guests felt through the design of our wedding was very important to me.  For Matteo, the food, drinks & music were priority. We designed the ceremony so that our guests faced toward the ocean as we made our vows and promises. We loved using colour, mixed with lots of texture and softer shades and a touch of tropical to create a warm, summery, feel-good vibe for our winter wedding. One of my bridesmaids I met through floral design came all the way from Mexico – she bought us the most thoughtful gift of paper mexican flags with our names, wedding date and our dogs name “Cooper” cut into them.  We hung them over the pool with the lights. We remember looking around at the dining room: our amazing band playing in the window-lined dining room looking out onto the pool topped with golden fairy lights as we enjoyed the music and the most beautiful dinner & margaritas (a significant drink to us) with the closest people in our lives, hearing everyone laughing, singing and having a blast on the best day of our lives was a magic feeling. To us, marriage means always working as a team through all of lives good and bad and toward our own personal goals as well as those we have together.  Supporting each other’s dreams and building them together. It means we’ll always do our best to show our love even on the difficult days and to never swap taking turns doing the dishes!
