Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love, what is unique about you and your relationship…
I am a project manager and my husband is a builder. I love to cook, play badminton and travel during my free time.
Gabriel is an animal lover, environmentalist and he loves to keep fit and motivates me to look after my health. We both come from different culture and country. He comes from Slovakia and I originally moved from India eight years ago. We bring the best of both worlds in our relationship. We both embrace each other differences. I remember he introduced me to his cat Bao Bao. That was the first time I ever touched a cat. Since then I feel the same connection with animals as Gabriel. His love for the environment made me do my bit for the planet. Gabriel supports me in my career and my faith. He joins me for the prayers in the temple and is equally excited for my next move in my career development. He listens through my stories of my faith I talk him through. Although gym was never my thing and now I feel so motivated to go there because of him. We complete each other in every way and becoming the best version of ourselves ever since we met each other.
Tell us about your special day, was there a specific theme or style? Tell us a little about the setting, the styling and some of your favourite details…
Our wedding was set outside at Wainui with immaculate views of the golf course. We were lucky it didn’t rain that day. I love cherry blossom flowers as they are soft and pastel. The theme was built around that. The colours of the outfits and decoration was chosen keeping that in mind. My favourite detail was the Aisle set up with all guests looking towards the beautiful views. The building was modern and it was offset by soft theme. This unique combination went very well. The feijoa orchards were perfect for the wedding shoot.
Tell us about your main outfits:
I wore a champagne colour Jessica Bridal Couture dress. I fell in love with it as soon as I saw my dress. It was A line with deep V plunging neck line. My favourite was the long train at the back. It had intricate details all over the dress. Embedded with beautiful embroidery and pars on the neck. Gabriel wore a custom made Tuxedo from Rembrandt. Looked like a James Bond.
What were some of the most memorable/unique moments from the day?
My most memorable moment was when Gabriel kissed me after the celebrant announced us husband and wife. I have never seen me so happy. I held his hand when his best friend was reading a message from his mother in Hungarian. It was overwhelming for him. Gabriel – I saw Teenu walking down the Aisle and it made me so emotional. It’s the happiest day of my life and I loved every bit of our wedding day.
Any advice for other couples planning to spend the rest of their lives together?
It’s quite important to embrace the differences and work towards the common goals. Although we are different but we share a common path. This brought us so close to each other as we both wanted to settle in life and have kids. When you do find someone you feel strongly about, don’t wait just tie the nuptial.
