Indie bridal brand Truvelle releases fragrance made for brides.
They say you’ll never forget your wedding day, but what if you had a way to remember more than what the photos show? What if you had something that brought you both back to exactly how you felt in those life-changing moments?
In 2013, when searching for a name to encompass her vision for a modern and effortless bridal line, Truvelle Founder Gaby came upon the French word trouvaille, which means ‘something lovely discovered by chance’. She says, “it was the perfect word to build off of. You can’t plan to fall in love with somebody — love is trouvaille.” Four years later, when creating a fragrance to embody those special and unique moments that makeup the bridal experience, Reassembly was the perfect partner for such a task. Much like Truvelle’s process in wedding dress design, Josée of Reassembly’s method to composing scents is intimate. “She asked me a ton of personal questions,” says Gaby, “to her, perfume is so much more than smell : it’s emotion and it’s personality.” Together, knowing what a powerful role fragrances play in memory and wanting to capture a pretty big one for Truvelle’s brides, these two Vancouver makers developed Trouvaille.
Trouvaille is sophisticated and effortless. “It’s warm, subtle, and inviting,” says Gaby who’s not usually one to wear a perfume. “Its tonka bean notes feel more like I’ve absorbed the cozy scent of a beautiful smelling place than a scent that’s been purposely put on my skin.” With carefully sourced ingredients like Spanish sage, black pepper, and lavender — which compliment each other oh-so-perfectly — Truvelle’s new fragrance is an easy one to love.
No matter the occasion, Trouvaille is meant to be a part of the big and small moments you have together as a couple. The Truvelle x Reassembly fragrance is available in candle and perfume oil, sold exclusively through Truvelle’s Vancouver flagship, online
