Old St Paul’s

Heritage Wedding Venue

Famed for its glowing wooden interior and illuminated stained glass windows, this iconic heritage property sits in the heart of Te Whanganui-a-Tara on land that was originally part of Pipitea Pā.

Since 1866, Old St Paul’s has been a welcoming and sophisticated wedding venue for thousands of couples. Built entirely of native timber, the building is a stunning example of Gothic Revival architecture and provides the perfect setting for a traditional wedding with a delicate twist of modern elegance.

No longer a parish church and proudly cared for by Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga, Old St Paul's is non-denominational though still consecrated. Couples are invited to design their own ceremony, whether it is religious, civil, LGBTQIA+, or a renewal of vows. Ceremonies may be embellished with the services of the property’s musician, or the very memorable ringing of bells, which sound at the arrival of the bride on the forecourt, and at the conclusion of the ceremony.
