Hannah + Jeremy by Maria Eve Studio

We always loved the idea of an intimate destination wedding beneath the stars.

Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love…

Our love language is spending quality time together. We share the same values and both hold family close to our hearts. Our relationship is full of laughter, mostly thanks to Jeremy, although Hannah likes to think she’s the funniest (we all know where she gets it from). Everything between us has always felt easy, like a sweet love story straight out of a movie. We’re hopeless at keeping secrets and surprises, yet somehow we still love planning them for each other. Jeremy is a Heavy Diesel Crane Mechanic who also runs his own crane business, while Hannah is an Education Assistant at the local school. Our schedules are full and we don’t get many days off together, but the time we do spend means the world to us. This year has been extra busy (and a little stressful) as we’re also building our first home, but we know it’s all part of this exciting chapter in our lives. We love trying new restaurants and being our own self-proclaimed food critics. Traveling and exploring nature together always fills our cup, and we definitely share a taste for the finer things in life, though Jeremy blames Hannah for his newly discovered sweet tooth. Late-night snacks are kind of our thing. Getting married in Indonesia was a dream come true. With Jeremy’s grandparents still living there, it felt special to bring our story full circle. He proposed to me at home in front of my grandparents, so saying our vows in front of his felt perfectly meant to be. Our goal for the future is to one day go full-time with Jeremy’s business and run it together. We’re both hardworking and driven, but we also want to enjoy the fruits of that hard work — to build a beautiful home, start a family (with a golden retriever first, of course), and keep growing this love that’s been so natural from the start.

How/where/when did you meet – and what were your first impressions

We actually met three years before we ever started dating. Jeremy had his eye on Hannah from the start – he chased her down while she continued to palm him off for what felt like forever. After three years of persistence, she finally agreed to go out with him… and still made him wait another whole month before officially calling it a relationship in September 2023. From the moment we started dating, everything just felt effortless. We fell in love so quickly, and it was clear that this was meant to be. Just three months later, Jeremy designed a one-of-a-kind ring and planned the ultimate surprise. For Hannah’s birthday, he fulfilled a promise he had made before we even started dating. He gifted her a trip home to Zimbabwe to visit her family a place she hadn’t been since moving away nine years earlier. She thought she’d be flying alone, and that Jeremy was off for work, until he appeared at the airport, ready to fly with her. What she didn’t know was that he had already booked a venue, photographers, and videographers in Zimbabwe. He proposed on the second day of their trip, a moment that completely took her by surprise. Jeremy’s first impression of Hannah was that she was the most beautiful girl he’d ever seen. His first compliment was even, “You remind me of my mum.” He also knew from the start that she had great style… and might just have expensive taste. Hannah’s first impression was that Jeremy was such a gentleman so effortlessly funny and attractive. Their love has always felt simple and natural, and it didn’t take long for Jeremy to fit right in with her family (especially since her mum spoils him just a little too much).

Tell us about the vision you had for the mood and style of your wedding. (theme, key styling elements, florals, colour palettes etc.).

We always loved the idea of an intimate destination wedding beneath the stars. Ever since she was little, Hannah dreamed of a garden-luxe celebration something that felt modern yet timeless. She’s always been drawn to neutral tones and understated elegance, and that vision became the heart of our day. Our wedding embraced modern elegance and timeless simplicity, blending soft neutral hues of white, cream, and muted greens with lush, organic florals. The atmosphere was refined yet effortless candlelit tables, gold accents, and delicate touches like silk ribbons and minimalist signage set the tone. Every element, from the crisp linen tablescapes to the raspberry-topped cake, reflected a style that was natural, intentional, and beautifully understated a true reflection of us.

What styling and visual elements worked best for you? (could be things, the florals, particular hire products or your marquee, etc., something the stylist created or simply just the scenic beauty of your location or the existing design of your venue).

We hired a three-storey modern mansion that instantly felt like the perfect canvas for our day elegant and surrounded by lush tropical greenery. The space had this incredible mix of clean, contemporary lines softened by cascading vines and palm trees, creating a naturally beautiful backdrop without needing too much styling. One of our favourite styling elements was the custom ten-foot drape that flowed beautifully from the second-floor balcony down to the lawn. It framed the space perfectly and instantly became the centrepiece of our celebration, bringing everything together in such an elegant, timeless way. The florals were pure magic soft pastel tones of blush, white, and butter yellow, with playful pops of daisies that added so much life and texture. We loved how our florist mixed structured, modern stems with delicate, whimsical blooms. It felt effortless, natural, and full of personality. The combination of the draped backdrop, warm wooden furniture, and airy floral styling created a setting that felt fresh, romantic, and uniquely us

What did you enjoy most about the planning process, and do you have any tips for couples starting their wedding planning journey?

We really loved the planning process and seeing our vision slowly come to life. You spend so much time behind the scenes researching, choosing, and organising every little detail – so when it all comes together on the day, it’s the most amazing feeling. All the stress and late nights are truly worth it once you see it unfold in front of you.

A few tips we’d share with other couples:

  • Create mood boards – for your wedding, your dress, florals, and styling. It’s so helpful to have something to look back on as you start choosing the smaller details.
  • When it comes to budgeting, try to be smart with your florals – repurpose ceremony arrangements for the reception to get the most out of them.
  • And most importantly, invest in a great photographer and videographer team. The day goes by so quickly, and having those beautiful, high-quality memories captured is so important. As a good quality team captures the moments that we miss but now can treasure forever.

Tell us about your vendors. Were there any standout suppliers you would like to make special mention of?

We truly had the most incredible team of vendors who helped make our day everything we dreamed of and more.

Hitched Weddings – Our planners were beyond amazing. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect wedding day; everything ran so smoothly and was even better than we imagined. The team was so professional, caring, and flawless in every detail. They made the entire experience completely stress-free, and we honestly couldn’t fault a thing. Working with Angela and Ivana was such a joy they brought our vision to life so beautifully, and we’ll forever be grateful. We’d recommend Hitched to anyone wanting their day to teel truly magical.

Maria Eve Studio – Photographer – Maria captured our day more perfectly than we could have ever imagined. She was so lovely to work with calm, down-to-earth, and so passionate about achieving the best possible outcome for us. Her modern, film-inspired style instantly drew us in, and she captured every emotion and detail so beautifully. The photos feel timeless and full of heart.

Leurfilm – Videographers – The Leurfilm team were incredible to work with. They made us feel so comfortable and natural in front of the camera, and their professionalism made the whole experience effortless. They captured every moment so beautifully, allowing us to relive the magic of the day over and over again.

Tell us about your main outfits, what was unique, and is there a story?

Hannah: I always knew I wanted a corset element in my wedding dress – something simple yet striking, with a timeless silhouette that still felt uniquely mine. I fell in love with the way the corseted bodice and soft draping created such a flattering shape, balancing structure with a gentle flow. My veil added that extra touch of luxury, and the neck scarf was one of my favourite details – it gave the look a modern, editorial twist. I actually went through six different silk scarves before finding the perfect shade and fit, but it was so worth it. Every detail came together exactly how I’d imagined – elegant, refined, and truly me.

Jeremy: Jeremy has always loved the old-money aesthetic – timeless, tailored, and effortlessly cool. He’s always been drawn to double-breasted suits, so having one custom-made was such a special part of the process for him. He loved working closely with Adam from Oscar Hunt, choosing every detail and bringing his vision to life. The slightly cropped jacket gave the look a modern edge while still feeling classic. It reflected him perfectly – stylish, confident, and a little different in the best way.

Tell us about your wedding and engagement rings.

I always wanted something unique and timeless, and Jeremy truly designed the most perfect ring for me. I’ve always loved the marquise diamond – it’s such a beautiful, elongated shape that feels both modern and classic. Jeremy’s design captured everything | dreamed of – simple, elegant, and one of a kind. It’s a piece Pil treasure forever, not just for how stunning it is, but because he put so much thought and love into creating it. It’s also one of one.

Jeremy: My ring was custom made and feels really personal to me. It features three black diamonds, which represent the three years Hannah made me wait before proposing – a little inside joke that makes it even more special. I wanted something stylish, modern, and different, and this design was exactly that. It’s a statement piece but meaningful — a perfect reflection of us.

What were one or two elements that were most important to you both that you were happy to spend a little more on? (food, photography, florals, the venue, your outfits?).

The venue was definitely one of the most important elements for us and something we were happy to invest in. Since it was a destination wedding, we always loved the idea of hiring a villa where our closest friends and family could all stay together. It made the entire celebration feel intimate and relaxed, and it gave us time to truly soak it all in. We booked the villa for four days, which meant we could host a welcome dinner, the wedding, and a recovery day – turning the whole experience into a beautiful extended celebration. Having everyone in one place created such a warm, holiday-like atmosphere where we could laugh, reflect, and enjoy every moment together. The villa also served as the perfect backdrop for our style and vision – modern, natural, and timeless.

Was there a favourite moment (or two that you will treasure always?

One of our absolute favourite moments was the few quiet minutes we shared together right after walking down the aisle. The day goes by so quickly, and we really wanted to take a moment just for us — to breathe, reflect, and let it all sink in. We stepped aside, away from the noise, and had a slow dance together, just the two of us. It was calm, emotional, and one of the most special moments of the day.

We also chatted about our outfits, laughing about how we hadn’t seen each other’s looks until that moment and how perfectly they matched. It felt surreal seeing everything come together – the setting, the details, and us finally side by side as husband and wife. It was one of those moments where time stood still, and we’ll treasure it forever.
