We aimed for that same cozy feeling, like a secret garden meets a backyard dinner party.

Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love…

We met at work and have been together ever since! We love good food, good wine, travelling, music and spending time with our friends and
family.

How/where/when did you meet – and what were your first impressions?

We met each other in 2015, working at a little Mediterranean restaurant, and we started work on the same day. Love at first sight.

Tell us about the vision you had for the mood and style of your wedding. (theme, key styling elements, florals, colour palettes etc.).

A creator we love postponed their big wedding and chose instead to have a small family ceremony in their own backyard. It was so sweet. It gave us all the warm, intimate, and timeless vibes we wanted for our own day. We aimed for that same cozy feeling, like a secret garden meets a backyard dinner party.

What styling and visual elements worked best for you? (could be things, the florals, particular hire products or your marquee, etc., something the stylist created or simply just the scenic beauty of your location or the existing design of your venue).

Florals, of course! The tapestry that I made for the ceremony out of old tablecloths and curtains, and the old building of the wine bar, really gave us a vibe we loved!!

What did you enjoy most about the planning process, and do you have any tips for couples starting their wedding planning journey?

I loved the creative freedom in planning, and we really wanted to make it our own. I have never really thought about my wedding before, and I feel like I was fed SO much wedding content that it was hard for me to find a theme. When we finally nailed it, I was so excited about all the particulars that it became easy and fun.

My tip for planning is to not ask too many people for their opinion. If you think it’s cool, go with it! Although we planned our wedding ourselves. And I do feel a sense of satisfaction being able to say we did it on our own. Hire a wedding planner.

Tell us about your vendors. Were there any standout suppliers you would like to make special mention of?

Special mention to our reception venue, Sauvage. Chris Lingua, the owner, made everything so seamless for us. The space is gorgeous,
everything just turned out so, so good!

What were one or two elements that were most important to you both that you were happy to spend a little more on? (food, photography, florals, the venue, your outfits?).

While we were particular about every choice we made, photos and videos, of course, take the cake. Having our moment forever captured on film and in frames means so much to us.

Was there a favourite moment (or two) that you will treasure always?

We wanted our ceremony guests to truly feel included in the day, so we wrote handwritten letters to each person and placed them on their chairs as a sort of personal seating chart. As everyone began to take their seats and read their letters, you could feel the emotion in the room. Everyone felt seen, appreciated, and connected in that moment.
