It was really amazing to go back there almost 8 years later, sit on the bench we started dating on, and ask for her to marry me.
Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love…
Addie: Peter and I currently live in Los Angeles, California with a two year old golden retriever, a black and white cat, and a little baby boy on the way (due very soon!) Peter is an Art Director and a Musician, I (Addie) lecture in English and Writing at a college nearby. We both love being with our loved ones, spending time outside, and drinking coffee!
How/where/when did you meet – and what were your first impressions?
Addie: We met when we were 19 years old (Babies!) and instantly liked each other. We dated for almost 8 years before getting engaged, so we had a short engagement (we didn’t need more time apart) 😉
Peter: We met through a mutual friend when we were both freshmen in college. I remember thinking that Addie had an undeniable warmth and magnetism.
When did you first realize that this was someone you’d like to spend the rest of your life with?
Addie: I knew pretty fast – haha! I was pretty enamored by him from night one. I remember thinking I had never met anyone else like him.
Peter: Definitely within the first month!
Was there a proposal? Tell us a little about it…
Peter: I proposed to Addie at a park in Dallas that was special to us because it was the same park that we started officially “Dating” at when we were 19 years old. It was really amazing to go back there almost 8 years later, sit on the bench we started dating on, and ask for her to marry me.
Tell us about the vision you had for the mood or style of your wedding.
Addie: I really wanted our wedding to feel natural, organic, somewhat minimal, and mostly about the people in our lives that love us and encouraged us throughout our dating relationship and wanted to stand by us throughout our marriage. We wanted our wedding to be special for everyone that attended, not just us. I am from Colorado, and Peter spent summer’s there growing up, so we both have a special place in our hearts for the Colorado pine trees, the greenery, and being outside!
What was one element you were happy to splurge on?
Addie: We splurged on our honeymoon! I had never been to Europe, and Peter and I had never really taken a proper, long trip together, so going to France for 10 days was beyond special.
Did anything happen on your wedding day that you laugh about in hindsight (even if it was stressful at the time)
Peter: We walked into our honeymoon suite with a bunch of lettering/cards/welcome signs saying “Welcome Mr. And Mrs. Hall” (Addie’s maiden name, not our new married name, Manos) lol
Tell us about your main outfits, what was unique, is there a story?
Peter: I wore my dad’s cowboy boots which was very special.
Addie: I had always loved and followed Danielle Frankel and knew I wanted to wear a dress of hers. I also wore a bracelet my mom gave to me the morning of my wedding day that used to be my grandma’s before she passed away.
