We had a garden party theme in the fall, and it turned out amazing!

Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love…

We met at work in Salt Lake City, Utah. Our love for each other grew as we discussed the world and our deepest convictions. Both of us love adventure, so our love grew as we explored the mountains. We are big runners, hikers, skiers, and walkers!

How/where/when did you meet – and what were your first impressions?

My first impression of Cameron was that he was very fruity and silly. We worked together, and I did not ever think we would end up together!! Lots of conversations in our cubicles and lunchtime walks helped us get to know each other for who we were outside the professional walls. Sure enough, the stars aligned, and the Lord brought us together! Our journey was a slow trickle that turned into being sure we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together.

When did you first realise that this was someone you’d like to spend the rest of your life with?

I always knew he was someone I could not go through life without, and when we started exploring the idea of dating – I was so happy. I loved every moment I had with him and could never get enough. It was a cold, snowy night when we had a conversation about the future, and both decided we could see a path.

Was there a proposal? Tell us a little about it…

Yes! We did a hike in Park City, Utah. We ended up plunging in the freezing river, and after, he pulled out a ring! We celebrated with friends and dinner afterwards!

Tell us about the vision you had for the mood or style of your wedding.

I never wanted to get married in the fall, but we fell completely in love with the venue, and that was one of the only dates we had available. So, I did my own thing and had a garden party theme in the fall, and it turned out amazing! It was on a beautiful lodge property, and all of our family and friends travelled from near and far to be there with us. We were happy they could all experience the raw mountain beauty of Utah and be 8,000 ft up!

What was one element you were happy to splurge on?

We splurged on food & flowers! Those were what took up the bulk of the budget! But both of them were amazing – so worth it.

Did anything happen on your wedding day that you laugh about in hindsight (even if it was stressful at the time)?

YES! Cameron’s pants ripped all the way down the middle while we were dancing at the reception. It was hilarious, and luckily, he had pants from the night before – but he still was mix-matched the rest of the night with a tuxedo shirt and blue slacks (lol)

Tell us about your main outfits, what was unique, is there a story?

My dresses were both a DREAM come true. I originally had found my reception dress at Aston Bridal, and when it came in the mail, it was incredible. The colour, the fabric quality, the detailing and the super fun skirt! It was so top-notch, and it came to me in an ample amount of time. I had a harder time finding a ceremony dress, probably because I was being so picky ☺ Aston Bridal had posted a dress that was everything I was looking for and more. My issue had been I was always having to compromise something I loved about a dress, and on this one, it had EVERYTHING! I had a crazy timeline for Miranda at Aston Bridal to be able to meet, and she outdid herself! It was made to my measurements and in my hand within a MONTH! I am so thankful for that team and will forever cherish the garments they created for me!
