Brody + Daniella by Bek Smith

See the full elopement of our cover stars, Daniella and Brody in Positano, Italy.

I noticed I still had a few creases in my veil, as it had been folded in my suitcase for two weeks. I thought it would be a terrific idea to iron the creases out. After a few minutes of ironing, I noticed the edge of the veil was starting to curl up: I had completely sizzled the ends! We had a good laugh about it over dinner that night. Luckily, it wasn’t too noticeable!

Daniella —— I was born and raised in Melbourne and Brody is born and raised in Wagga Wagga. I made the move to Sydney almost six years ago. I only planned on staying for 12 months maximum. Brody moved to Sydney as a teenager to pursue his passion for football. We’re both very excited to make the move down to Melbourne at the end of the year. Brody and I are passionate Collingwood and Geelong supporters, respectively. We can’t wait to be able to head to a few more AFL games in Melbourne next year.

It might sound a little surprising but there was no proposal—we just knew it was the right time for us! We always knew we wanted an intimate wedding and discussed eloping. Before the pandemic hit, we were planning a holiday to Europe, and thought, what better place to elope than along the Amalfi Coast in Italy?

We wanted the style of our day to be timeless and chic, and we knew the incredible scenery and backdrop of Positano would set a romantic mood for our wedding. In the end, it all came together so beautifully! We had the most magical day. It was everything we thought it would be and more.

The only thing that was slightly stressful was that, the night before the wedding, I noticed I still had a few creases in my veil, as it had been folded in my suitcase for two weeks. I thought it would be a terrific idea to iron the creases out. After a few minutes of ironing, I noticed the edge of the veil was starting to curl up: I had completely sizzled the ends! We had a good laugh about it over dinner that night. Luckily, it wasn’t too noticeable!

I knew I wanted to wear a short dress and loved the idea of puffy sleeves. After a few months of searching, I found my dress online. It’s a Solace London design from Harvey Nichols in London. I paired the dress with J’Adior slingbacks by Dior and a cathedral-length veil. Brody wore a tuxedo custom-made by P Johnson Tailors in Paddington.

We wanted a fragrance we could both wear and loved Sole Di Positano by Tom Ford. We searched almost all of the fragrance stores in Milan, Portofino and Capri, but it was sold out everywhere. That was pretty heartbreaking but we ended up purchasing Eau D’Italie from Le Sirenuse in Positano, which we both loved.
