When we were first approached to be involved with Kai and Lisanne’s wedding we fell in love with their adventurous spirit and wanted to create something which reflected this.

Being the texture junkie that I am I thoroughly enjoyed sourcing the 'ingredients' for this bouquet, most of which were local.
My most common request this season has been for pastels, and for this bouquet I couldn't help adding a summery pop of colour. I typically use non-commercial foliage sourced from my garden, and a few favourite foraging spots. Here I've used olive, and one of my favourites - lacebark - which is a New Zealand native and in summer is covered in delicate, sweet, honey-scented flowers. I've also used some twisted willow for a bit of movement.
Yellow makes people smile! I think it reminds them of sunshine and happiness, but strangely it's a colour I never usually consider when selecting my flowers... For whatever reason, this week I threw out my misgivings towards the yellow and created this lovely big golden handful of sunshine.
My favourite time of year for hydrangeas is when summer's ending and the season begins its change to autumn. Gone are the bright hues of blue, white and pink, to be replaced by various shades - lilac, dusky pink, cerulean and boysenberry.

Playing in my studio one afternoon creating strictly-this-palette-only-thanks wedding bouquets, I felt compelled to put together something unusual and bright.
Nothing says sweet decadence like a table set with a delicious confection of cakes and flowers.
This time we've combined soft and strong elements with delicate blush tones to create a lush, boho and 'fresh from the garden' feel.
I was very lucky to get the most amazing peonies, which opened up to be these full fluffy pink pillow creations. Bigger than my head and appropriately named 'Dinner Plate', these were the star of the show!
This is more of a romantic, luxe arrangement, which would show off in any space. The key flower for this one is lilac, and the filler flower is brunia.
