I whip my head around and he’s pulling a ring box out of his pocket, I just start laughing. He’s trying to get down on one knee and I’m like ‘No! get up, don’t get down, don’t get down’ and somehow I say yes while laughing.
There was no game playing or any of that dating nonsense, Joe called me the night we met, he then picked me up for a picnic date the next day and within 6 months we moved in together and went on a two week holiday to Vietnam the day after we moved in. It always just felt right.

Poor Agi our Stylist had to deal with my forever changing mind on what the style was, but we stuck by our main 3 words. Relaxed/ Simplistic and Elegant – But also FUN!

We moved over to London around the same time (the argument on who followed who is still ongoing!) and were initially both unemployed and friend-less so spent lots of time together… the rest was history!
The waitress couldn’t believe we had gotten married when we showed up in our suit and dress. She asked to see our marriage certificate. And the tables around us all cheered when we found our seat.
Helen ——Rich and I both spend most of the working day staring at screens — I’m a lawyer and he’s a quantity surveyor — so on the weekend we love to pack up our outdoor cooker, go to one of our local beaches and cook a slightly upmarket fish and chips for our friends.
I knew that he was behind me and I thought he was taking photos of the tree-lined driveway so when I turned around to find out why he wasn’t answering me it was safe to say I was well and truly shocked to see him kneeling in front of me with a box in his hand.
Jayden knew I didn’t want a big fuss when it came to proposing so when he asked me to marry him on one of our beach walks, I said yes. It was perfect.
When I saw Hannah waiting at the door, I was so nervous when I saw her, I ran off and told my friends the girl of my dreams is here. This didn’t look good, as Hannah thought I wasn’t interested and ran away. But of course, I came straight back, and we danced the night away.
I spent most of my time on one knee trying to convince her that I wasn’t joking. The ring was on her finger eventually and it was no less special. But if we were to do it again, I probably wouldn’t pull that prank at the gift store or push the ‘de facto’ narrative quite so hard.
